    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Club América’s high-profile signing, Allan Saint-Maximin, has officially arrived in Mexico to join on a four-year deal. The French winger landed at Mexico City International Airport on Friday, where around 200 fans gathered to welcome him, reflecting the excitement surrounding a player with extensive European experience.

    Speaking to reporters upon his arrival, the 28-year-old expressed his gratitude.

    “Happy to be in Mexico, thank you to the fans for this welcome," he said. 

    Saint-Maximin joins from Saudi side Al Ahli, adding star power to an América squad that has struggled to find consistency in 2025.

The Frenchman spent four seasons in England with Newcastle United, making 124 appearances and scoring 13 goals. His résumé also includes a stint in Turkish football with Fenerbahçe, time in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli, and his early years in France, where he made his professional debut with Saint-Étienne.
