WHAT HAPPENED?
Ahead of Liverpool facing Everton at Goodison Park this weekend, Reds legend Carragher was asked how many Everton players would make his all-time Merseyside starting XI for . The ex-defender said Alan Ball, Ray Wilson, and Neville Southall would make it in for the Toffees but didn't put which Liverpool players would be in there. After a fan claimed he was "downgrading" Salah, Carragher hit back on social media.

WHAT JAMIE CARRAGHER SAID
After one fan wrote, "So again he’s downgrading Salah’s achievements as Alan Ball plays on the right……….."
To which Carragher replied on X: "Salah is in……some cranks on here!!"

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The anger likely stemmed from Carragher calling Salah "selfish" for publicly expressing his disappointment at Liverpool allegedly not offering him a new deal. The Egyptian is out of contract next summer and for the time being, he is set to leave at the end of the campaign. But Carragher has said the 32-year-old is in Liverpool's top five players to ever wear the shirt.
