Saka appeared to be struggling with a hamstring complaint, which will concern those at Emirates Stadium. He first pulled up when failing to prevent Greece from opening the scoring in the 49th minute – with his evening brought to a close shortly afterwards.

WHAT CARSLEY SAID

Interim England boss Lee Carsley told reporters afterwards when asked for an update on Saka’s condition – with a full diagnosis yet to be made: "He’s being assessed. Obviously in the build up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg."

Afterwards, Saka was spotted walking gingerly through the mixed zone as he made his way out of Wembley.
